I think that personally the art show went well for me. I got a lot of good feedback from friends and family of my monsters and my photography. I think that this year there was less going on then last year, but we were more organized as a whole and we got everything done pretty fast so we had time to get organized by ourselves before everyone started to show up. I think that the only changes for my art is that I should’ve done some touch ups on the paint from all the bumps that they took. This year I have grown very much. Looking at my drawings and art from the beginning of this year is very different. The difference from last year to this year has been amazing as well. I have grown incredibly much and I am so so porous of how far I have come as an artist. This group of people has made the last 2 years of school so much better.

This collection of art is some of my favorite art I’ve had a chance to make in VAM so far. This year I decided to make a series of 6 rainbow clay monsters. The idea of them is 6 limbless figures that look almost as if a child drew them. I got this idea from my brother. He has been obsessing over a group of characters called “Rainbow Friends” from a game called Roblox and he has been non-stop drawing them. So I wanted to make my own set of them to give to him so he has his very own. The materials that I have used so far have only been clay from VAM and clay tools from VAM as well. For the last few weeks I have been sculpting and “perfecting” the monsters to how I want them to look. They are currently in the kiln for the next day, then they will have to cool for a day or two. As soon as they are done cooling I can get to painting each of them. For the red one, it is shaped like a heart so I wanted to paint it shades of red. Each shade will have its own mini heart and they will get smaller and smaller. The orange one is a square and it will be a light shade of orange with dark orange polka dots all around it. The yellow monster is a triangle and it will be light yellow with dark yellow “m” shapes drawn all over it. The green one is a pentagon and it is light green with small dark green “X” drawn all over it as well. The blue one is a circle and for this one I wanted to make it checkerboarded. Finally for the last monster, it is a purple rectangle and it will have dark purple flowers with a light purple base. I am so excited for the result of this project and I can’t wait for it to show the final result!
My strongest piece of work in the celebration of learning was my sunflower clock photo from Rowley AB. It had so much depth and I think that after I edited it, it ended up being a super eerie photo and the feel of the clock really gives the ghost town feeling. I feel like the art show went very well. The setup didn’t take nearly as long as I thought and I think that everyone got to hang out and have fun before all the families got there. This year is only half done and I think that I have grown a lot. Especially compared to last year. I did a painting earlier this year and I compared it to my paintings from last year and it is so much better and I improved so much more in just a small amount of time. I have also learned how to do more on photoshop this year and how to edit photos more professionally which is awesome. I think that overall, the beginning of this year has been a success for me and my art.
